Technolama 2 - Spiritual Tech by Discovery Sound
Made another demo using the Technolama Sample CD available at Discovery Sound, Loopmasters, and Big Fish Audio. If you are into old school techno then this a must have classic in any DJ or producer's arsenal of sound.
Though personally I have grown out of the techno crave, it is still fun to mix with and "loop around" every now and then.

The Shami Kami Starwars
This is a little spoof video I made using the Shamisen Starwars theme played by none other than the Shami Kami himself. He has a lot of great Shamisen videos that you may want to check out if you are interested in the Japanese ethnic instrument.
He has two youtube pages:

Check out his channels and subscribe if you like.

Download Tuva Khoomei Samples on Loopmasters

The original sample CD is still available here at Discovery for those of you old schoolers out there who like to still have the master on hand. But if you don't like waiting in the mail for a CD to arrive then get on Loopmasters now and download the files in minutes.
Tuvan Sounds on the disc:
KHOOMEI :
A type of throat singing with a distinct fundamental and an overtone melody, used in folk music from Tuva.
DOSHPULUUR :
A three-stringed instrument with fretless similar to a banjo, but with the warm, organic sound of wood and goat skin.
IGIL :
A two-stringed, bowed and fretless instrument. Deeply connected with the mythology of the horse, the most important animal in Tuvan culture. The Igil sounds like a cross between violin and cello, and is often used to imitate the sound and rhythms of the horse.

Discovery Sound @ Loopmasters

Loopmasters gives new meaning to the word "distributor". They are always providing the best services and returns for all of their partners/labels. In short they don't beat around the bush. This is probably the main reason why they are so far ahead of the competition. Their reputation is inspecable and they are the leaders of the sampling industry.
Loopmasters doesn't play around when it comes to promotion for their artitsts. They are and will probably still be 20 years down the road, the best friend (next to your dog) you can have.

KOTO: Sampling DVD

An ancient Japanese musical instrument comes into the spotlight again. The Koto is not only used in traditional music, but also modern day composers have also used the instrument in collaboration with orchestras since the early 1900’s. Koto captures the pure sound of Japan and will flood your ears with various sounds.
Koto was used in old Japanese court music to sooth the body. It has been said that this instrument could purify you mind, body, and soul. There is an opening in the bottom of the Koto which releases the sound that seems to penetrate your body.
The DVD-ROM was recorded with the player facing the Koto using the correct posture and emotional display to achieve the high quality 96 kHz/24bit sound. You can hear many basic play techniques such as types of chalking, finger slides, pizzicato, and arpeggios all inside 1023 files.
The Koto sound is as quite as the moon, cherry blossoms, and the surface of water. It has a lightness of flying butterflies and the sputtering of fish, but has the strength of thunder. Its 13 strings bring elegant and spiritual sounds that mimic stillness and motion as does the 4 seasons of Japan. You will feel as if it is you who is playing these warm, dynamic tones.
